Lead by songwriters Michael Brennan and Matthew Cromarty (both formerly with critically-acclaimed band Mellonova), Beneath Augusta work with a melodic sensibility that eschews "being progressive for the sake of being progressive," concentrating instead on writing more direct, streamlined songs.
